Recent file list under the File menu shows deleted databases due to design.

Cause:

This is by design. When a database is opened recently, Access displays the name of the database in the 'Recent File List' under the 'File' menu. This happens even when the database has been deleted because the database was still opened recently.

Solution:

Open some other databases until the name of the deleted file is replaced by those of newly opened files.

NOTE: By design, the 'Recent File List' can only display a fixed number of recently opened files. Therefore, as the number of recently open databases increases, the names of the newly opened databases replace those of the previous databases.
